L&G: Opinion: what makes a good value annuity?

Good value is a relative concept. Shopping around will help the customer find a lower cost annuity provider. That might be lower cost for a standard annuity or a lower cost because the chosen provider recognises the medical impairments the customer suffers from and has lowered their cost accordingly. Both of these lend themselves to classic price comparison tables, of the sort that Which? became famous for with big household purchases like washing machines.
