Prudential: The benefits of asset allocation

With adviser charging fast approaching at the end of 2012 and the need to carefully manage resources to support the management of investment risk with clients, the use of multi-asset funds is important to enable the delivery of a valued service to clients whilst maintaining the profit within your business.

Prudential’s Dynamic Portfolios are five risk managed portfolios, actively managed by Prudential’s Portfolio Management Group (PMG), in real time to maintain a level of risk exposure appropriate to the objective of the fund. Matthew Williams, Director of Portfolio Management, has provided a brief update following the recent market conditions and the impact on our Dynamic Portfolios.

PMG believe in the importance of asset allocation and the key role that multi-asset funds could provide as an investment solution. They take a long term and rational view while monitoring market changes, valuations and other key indicators on a daily basis. PMG will make changes to the asset allocation within the portfolios, whilst keeping in line with the objectives of the portfolio. In addition, independent recommendations in fund selection are provided by Old Broad Street Research (OBSR), a Morningstar company that provides independent research consultancy.

Matthew Williams believes that it’s comforting to know that during these turbulent times, well managed, diversified multi-asset funds continue to provide a great option for many investors’ needs. For the latest on Dynamic Portfolios read Matthew’s brief update.
