A special date for the diary - 20th December 2010

parliament buildingsAt Panacea we believe passionately about the importance of the role of the IFA and understand that the RDR brings with it opportunity and despair, often in equal measure. It is causing division where there should be unity, it is causing fear where it should not. The voice of the typical smaller IFA is not being heard as it should, either by the bodies who claim to represent them or as it is believed by many - the regulator.

Two MPs, who are very concerned about this, have listened and are trying to do something about it. They have secured permission for a full House of Commons Backbench Business debate to be held the evening of Nov 29th in the main chamber.

We are very pleased that they have agreed to take time out of their very busy schedules to attend a special pre Christmas complementary Panacea RDR morning on the 20th December, kindly hosted by M&G Investments in their London City offices, to shed some light on the parliamentary processes involved, what the outcomes could be and answer your questions in this regard.

The MPs are Mark Garnier MP and Harriett Baldwin MP. In addition to Mark and Harriett there will be contributions from Richard Hobbs, a leading industry consultant with specialist knowledge of the FSA.

Peter Hamilton, a leading and outspoken financial services barrister from 4 Pump Court Chambers, Steven Andrew, Manager of the M&G Income Multi Asset Fund will present a session on the importance of multi asset investing in a post RDR environment and offer his outlook on the economic climate for 2011 and beyond.

The full morning’s agenda, from 9.30am to 1.00pm will be published closer to the event. Further announcements about others expected to present on the day will follow.

This free event is expected to attract a lot of attention and we would recommend that you follow this link and reserve your place today.
