ASG update
The work of the Adviser Sustainability Group remains ongoing. Nothing is ‘final’ until it is over the line, however to keep you posted - the report is currently in three  sections:  

  • essential knowledge,
  • advice framework,
  • training framework.   

We are aiming for this to be live before the summer, but it remains ‘work in progress’. 

FCA Financial Lives Survey
The just published 2024 FCA Financial Lives Survey made interesting reading in part because the data told a different story from the recent narrative.  Although some responses pointed to lower interest in responsible investment than in 2022, much was also very close to the 2020 numbers - which we called a 'boom' at the time (perhaps hence the current criticism / backlash in some quarters...)

These are the key stats I expect to be quoting for the next couple of years:

  • 72% of respondents want investments ‘to do some good and provide a financial return’.  
  • 76% of respondents thought it was 'important to be asked if they wish to invest responsibly'.
