Prudential Oracle Technical August edition
Welcome to Prudential’s August edition of Oracle Technical.
Summer holidays are over up here in Scotland but some non-Scottish readers will be mid-holiday, so the Prudential technical team have some light summer holiday reading for you.
Helen O’Hagan completes her “What of trusts” series with a look at Probate Trusts. Graeme Robb takes a look at a recent tax tribunal case involving business property relief.
Jacqueline Clezy has written an article on employer pension contributions covering some of the common things the technical team get asked on the helpline. And Clare Moffat takes a look at the recent case that’s changed pensions and divorce slightly for those of you up north of the border.
The ‘questions from the helpline’ section of Oracle Technical is always popular and insightful and in this month’s edition, Liz Hardie from the tax and trust wing only really has the one question covered – but it’s got a long answer – can trustees buy an investment bond. She’ll guide you through what they think the thought process is.
Sam Niblo from pensions land is covering some of the Lifetime Allowance aspects they often get asked about in relation to defined benefit schemes.
